Educational book series on Beijing Central Axis released

Marking the first anniversary of Beijing Central Axis' inscription as a UNESCO World Heritage site, a book series centered on the site was launched at Beijing's Hong'en Temple on Sunday.

Titled World Cultural Heritage Beijing Central Axis, the three-volume series is tailored for primary and secondary school students aged between 6 and 15.

Beijing Publishing Group gathered key scholars, experts and educators involved in Beijing Central Axis' inscription and protection, and created the book series in nearly a year.

The three volumes target students at the lower primary grades, higher primary grades and middle school respectively, with content ranging from poetry, historical anecdotes, cultural relics to ancient philosophy and comparative studies on urban axes around the world.

At the ceremony, Mei Song, secretary-general of the Beijing Central Axis Protection Foundation, Jia Wei, secretary-general of the book's editorial committee, and Zhao Tong, editor-in-chief of Beijing Publishing Group, presented the books to student representatives.
